Spain prepares for cruel bullfighting event
Dear JocelynEvery year in mid November the people in Medinaceli, Spain, gather to "enjoy" an event of unspeakable cruelty. For the "Toro Júbilo" balls of "pitch", a sticky substance derived from petroleum or plants, are attached to both of the bull’s horns and set on fire.
A cheering crowd of blood sports enthusiasts harasses the toro de fuego or “bull on fire” once it is released onto the streets.
The balls burn for hours and hurt the horns, body and eyes, causing terrible suffering. In some instances bulls ran against walls in a desperate attempt to escape the unimaginable pain and suffering.
Click here to email the Spanish authorities and urge them to stop the Toro Júbilo.
This event takes place this weekend. We need your support to stop it. Help us to make bullfighting history!
Many thanks. PS If you would like to donate to our campaigning work, please visit the League Against Cruel Sports website |
