Today, I have big news to share! After just five months of campaigning by HSI’s Be Cruelty-Free China team, the government has announced this week that animal testing will no longer be required for most cosmetics manufactured in China from June 2014 onward.

Now, for the first time ever, Chinese consumers will be able to make cruelty-free shopping choices that you and I take for granted. It also means that companies that claim only to animal test when it’s “legally required” will soon have one less legal requirement to hide behind.
