Will you help end his suffering?

Dear ,

Today is Chinese New Year and 2016 is the 'Year of the Monkey'. Monkeys are amazing animals - curious, mischievous and clever. They are inherently intellectual and creative and thrive on being challenged. But too many monkeys are suffering immensely in captivity.

We have uncovered the systematic abuse of 290 macaques housed in venues offering monkey shows in Asia. Young macaques are trained aggressively and painfully to make them walk, behave and appear more human. They are repeatedly forced to dance and perform tricks for groups of tourists. When they are not performing, the macaques are often chained in small barren cages. As the macaque grows, the chain can become embedded in his skin and lead to painful infections and diseases.

Beaten and starved into performing, their lives are constant torture. But all tourists see are monkeys at play. So many don't understand what goes on behind the scenes to make the 'entertainment' possible.

Right now, up to 550,000 animals are suffering unimaginable pain at the hands of this cruel industry. No wild animal should be beaten or abused for our entertainment. We are fighting for a world where wild animals live in the wild - where they belong. We hope you will stand with us to make this vision a reality. Will you help end their suffering?

$40 could help free a wild animal from captivity and transport them to our funded sanctuary.
$84 could help provide the resources needed to locate and reach suffering animals.
$100 could help us educate more tourists, local stakeholders and decision-makers, helping to end exploitive animal tourism experiences.

After suffering so cruelly at the hands of humans, you have the opportunity to be part of the solution and help make this Year of the Monkey a truly happy year for macaques - and the many other animals - presently suffering in the name of entertainment.

My sincerest thanks for all that you do to help protect animals around the world.

Gratefully,
